Many post mastectomy clients no longer have much sensation in this area. For those who do topical anesthetics are used before and throughout the procedure, so discomfort is minimal.
How long does medical tattooing last?
With proper aftercare, you can expect your results to last for years, though periodic touchups may be necessary.
Can I customize my nipple tattoo?
Absolutely! At your consultation you will be able to view our full portfolio. Some clients bring a photo of themselves prior to their surgery which the artist is able to replicate. While others may
request a different size and shape that better suits their breast shape post reconstruction.
Is this covered by my insurance?
If this is your first time receiving this service, most insurance companies will cover the cost. It’s recommended to check with your provider beforehand regarding specific coverages. If requested, we can provide you with the necessary paperwork to submit a claim.
When should I schedule my breast tattoo?
Scheduling should be after you are fully healed from reconstruction or any other invasive procedure. Usually 6 months to 1 year. This allows for adequate healing, scars to mature, and settling of the breasts for areola placement. The tattoo should be the LAST step of your breast reconstruction.
